Rapid seals services saves £000’S

Aberdeen O-rings and Seals Ltd recently came to the rescue of a blue-chip oil and gas company service company, with their fast response time and extensive stocks. The customer had a twelve-hour window to source, pressure test and deliver to an offshore platform ED resistant O-rings for valves operating in high temperature conditions.

After a swift visit to the customer’s premises to evaluate the valve and application, Aberdeen O-rings and Seals were able to recommend the correct Endura Z95X O-rings – supplied from stock in Aberdeen. In addition, new PTFE ball seats and PEEK wear seats were manufactured using their rapid production service. The time taken to solve the problem from initial contact was just 4 hours, saving the customer thousands of pounds in production downtime.

Aberdeen O-rings and Seals Ltd were recently acquired by Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd, a specialist manufacturer of high-performance sealing solutions.

Commenting on the purchase, PPE Managing Director Peter Cloney believes there is a clear synergy between the two companies’ products and services.

“This acquisition will go a long way to improving the accessibility of high performance elastomers and plastics for companies within the oil and gas industry. Aberdeen O-rings and Seals are well known in Northern Scotland for providing a highly-responsive service and rapid delivery from stock, as well as fast production of turned parts. We intend to build further and create a centre of excellence in Aberdeen, with comprehensive product support and advice augmented from our resources in Lancashire.”
